Chowder is just under 3 years old and very much lives up to his name—this boy is highly food motivated (squeeze-up treats are his absolute weakness!).
He was brought to his previous home as a tiny kitten before he was even fully weaned, and he's grown into such a special, intuitive cat. Chowder can be picked up, but he doesn't love being held too tightly - he prefers affection on his own terms.
Chowder is an incredibly empathetic soul. When his owner became ill with ovarian cancer, he stayed close - often sleeping across her stomach at night, offering quiet comfort when it was needed most.
He tends to be a "“next to you" cat rather than a"on you" cat - happy just being nearby. He plays well on his own (especially with catnip toys!) and previously enjoyed time in a catio, but he has not been free-roaming outdoors. He is microchipped.
Chowder would do well with other cats and likely with gentle, respectful children. Dogs are unknown, as he hasn't had exposure to them.
Now, Chowder is looking for a new home where he can feel safe again—and be someone's quiet, loyal companion.
